What a Week!

Well the last three weeks have been quite a challenge and filled with ups and downs. When we returned from Labor Day weekend, Jeff's foot and lower leg were swollen so big they just ran together. It was even hard for him to bend his foot. We started out at the cardiologist to ensure it was not a blood clot, and then he finally went to our family doctor on the 16th, she was so concerned she started to put him in the hospital. She loaded him up with antiobiotics and told him to come back on Monday at 8am (the 21st). We went back to the dr on the 21st and she put him in the hospital, even though the swelling had gone down quite a bit. The spot on his leg was turning black and purple and red. It looked horrible. At this point we still were not told what was wrong and I was really scared. Finally the infectious disease dr came in on Tuesday morning and confirmed it was cellulitis, a skin infection that was not contagious. Thank God! He finally got out of the hospital on Thursday afternoon. You just never know what it could be and lord knows if it was a staph infection, it can be deadly in some cases. I truly don't know how I would live if something happened to him. I love him so much and he means so much to me. I hope I never take him for granted and always let him know how much he means to me.
