The Perfect Trip...Part Three

Jeff and I could barely sleep the night before. We were so excited. We had attended our Bon Voyage party on Friday night. While packing on Saturday, I realized I had left my passport in my office at work. Nevermind that I had packed up my office at work because my office was moving over the weekend and so my passport was somewhere in one of the twelve boxes that I had in my office. So Sunday morning we packed everything up and we had to go all the way to I-10 and Eldridge to my office before we went to Galveston to the terminal. Our plan was to meet Tim and Joey at their friends house in Galveston so we could leave our cars there and she was going to take us to the terminal. So we headed out and finally arrived in Galveston at the friend's house around 1:30p. Tim and Joey got there shortly after we did and we packed everything into her car...We were laughing and carrying on about how excited we were and what we were going to do when we got on the boat. She took us to the terminal and as we arrived we were all in awe of the size of the ship. It was HUMONGOUS! We made our way up to the security line. Jeff and I had gone by the terminal previously and dropped off our luggage so all we had was our two carryon bags. Tim and Joey were not planning on checking their luggage. They were going to carry on all of their luggage. We stood in the security check in line and it was pretty long. We had to wait in line to get in the security line. LOL. We finally made it through security and Jeff and I were standing between security and the check in counter. We had stopped and waited on Tim and Joey to make sure they wouldn't make them check their bags. They made it through OK and we turned to go towards the check in counter. Tim and Jeff were walking behind Joey and I. Joey was walking just a little in front of me on my right side. There was a lady towards the check in counter (which was to our right) motioning for us to come this way. Joey was a couple of steps ahead of me and I turned to go towards the direction where the lady was motioning and when I turned right...it happened...the worst thing you can imagine...I stepped onto Joey's carryon luggage he was carrying behind him...and fell off it, tried to miss it with my other leg and landed on the ground with a scream and the most intense pain I had felt in a long time...

It had happened, the unthinkable, the unimaginable...I was not getting on the ship. I couldn't move my leg.
